I just modified one of the account detected putting as you suggested "imap.google.com" and I deleted all the other related accounts (*.google.com).

The problem is that a few minutes later new *.google.com are detected again as I supposed

The new accounts are really duplicates, i.e. have the same login in properties? If yes, there is a way to avoid this by adding two strings:
216.239.59.109 pop.gmail.com
216.239.59.109 imap.gmail.com

to the end of text file windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

In this case the same IP will always be used for communicating with gmail, which is important for the plug-in.

Very strange.... I cannot anymore check IMAP account.

I have this error message on the log file of The Bat:

04/06/2009, 15:28:04: IMAP - Could not connect to the server

The only way to solve this problem is to eliminate the Antispamsniper plugin from The Bat. But if I add it again, IMAP account couldn't connect again (even if I destroy all the accounts created by the plugin).

I also tried, as you suggested, to change DNS with OpenDns and to modify the host file with 216.239.59.109 pop.gmail.com

But it still doesn't working

Any idea?

Does this error appear immediately, or after some period of time?
Please check the following:
- The checkbox "Filter SSL protected connections" must be enabled on Accounts tab in plug-in settings. Also the connection type on the tab Transport of account settings in TheBat must be "Secure to dedicated port", and port must be 993.
- Check the previous log message in TheBat. If it says "TLS handshake failure. The server host name ('pop.gmail.com') doesn't match the certificate", set the domain name to imap.gmail.com in TheBat account settings.

I restarted XP and reinstalled the plugin and now it works.

The problem is that all the imap accounts automatically detected by the plugins have always pop.gmail.com instead imap.gmail.com

I changed it manually. I hope is going to work

It looks like this is a known problem. Most probably TheBat.exe was hanging in background and didn't allow the new instances to work properly. To resolve the issue in this case it is enough to kill the hanging process from Task Manager instead of restarting the system.

The plug-in doesn't create own connections with IMAP server. I.e. same error will appear without the plug-in because of the server side restrictions.

Ouf! Everything works fine. Thanks a lot for your kind help.

Just a last question. Why new spam detected is immediately marked as read inside the Junk folder (of my imap account)? Obviously the option "mark stored junk mail as read" is not selected on The Bat.

Any idea how to mark unread new spam?

The plug-in always marks a classified spam as "seen" before moving it to junk folder, to simplify restoring the false positives. It is used as a flag that there is no need in classifying this message again. For example, if you mark some message from junk folder as unread, then move it to a folder for good mail, in most cases the plug-in will return it back to junk folder. This is because it classifies all unread messages in filtered folders. And if you forgot to mark the moved message as non-spam before restoring it from junk folder, the message will be classified as spam once again and goes back to junk.
