Hi,
Since yesterday changes, the white list doesn't work anymore.
As you remember yesterday we deleted a few files like filterlogutf.bin, statdata.fm and a lot of old log files
Strangely when I open my whitelist I can find all my friends that now are filtered to the junk folder. So the whitelist is present.
But if I have a look at the log file of the plugin, I find that some of my friends (and even my wife!) are Classified 95.66% or similar! And they are classified on the junk file
Any idea? |

Make sure that checking the display names is turned off:
This option is disabled by default, and the plug-in checks only mail addresses in this case. |

Yes the checking the display names is turned off.
And contrary to you, I also have turned off that:
- extract the email from adress bodies
But, always contrary to you, I have checked on :
- learn outgoing messages as non spam
- update the blacklist automatically
But I think that I always had these parameters in the past.
There is a strange thing with the mails of my wife for example. If I move them from Junk to Inbox they are automatically moved again and again to junk. But this is probably normal because I still don't have marked her as NOT junk |

The plug-in doesn't use the whitelist only in one case - when a message contains your own address in From field. In other cases the described problem is impossible. Mark all your good mail as ham to update the whitelist and train the classifier. |

It means that the plug-in is not trained. Mark your good mail as ham. |

Ok I will try but sometimes even some new mails (not yet learned as ham) are badly classified.
Anyway, I found another problem which is not related to yesterday change. It's an old problem.
I discovered that the feature "DO NOT FILTER THESE IMAP FOLDERS" doesn't work.
I found several mails on the junk folder. And normally these mails should be inside the folders I indicated on the plugin.
This is my procedure:
- With GMAIL I set some gmail filters creating new mails folders (to filter particulars subject for exemple)
- Then with your plugin I ask not to filter these folder with antispamsniper because I am sure of them
But anyway sometimes I found a lot of them on the junk folder! |

Mark as not spam as many messages as possible. The probability of false positives reduces with each new learned good mail.

Make sure that the entered folder name exactly the same as in TheBat properties of the folder (IMAP-Specific | Full IMAP folder path). It is possible to use '*' as a mask. |

Yes I already use the full Imap folder path. For example for the subfolder PRESSE of the folder FORMULAIRES, the full imap folder path for The Bat is: FORMULAIRES/Presse
I think there is a bug somewhere. Could you test on your side?
BTW, what do you mean "It is possible to use '*' as a mask" in this particular case? Could you give me an example? |

Here are the examples:
FORMULAIRES/*
*Presse
FORMULAIRES*Presse |

Ok thanks
If I only wrote FORMULAIRES* all the subfolders of folder FORMULAIRES won't be checked, isn't it? |

Yes, if FORMULAIRES is a top level folder. |

Unfortunately after a few weeks The Bat crash again like in the past after 24hours or less.
Always the same ram problem.
statdata.fm is now 16 megs after new initial training
histdata.bin is 3.5 megs
But the memory usage grows easily until 400 megs...
Any new idea?
bye |

I guess that the filtering log grows due to receiving thousands of mail messages, e.g. 10000-20000 a day. Could you please check why the number of messages is so big? I mean what mailbox generates the most of log records, and what protocol is used for downloading mail from this mailbox? |

As you know, I changed my PC: i7, win7 64 bits, 6 giga of ram.
But The Bat started again crashing like with the other machine because of too much memory usage. It easily grows up to 300 megs and up.
The biggest file are:
statdata.fm 19 megs
msgidss.fm 2megs
sahdata.fm 2 megs
histdata.bin 0.7 meg
Any idea how to improve stability and decreasy memory usage? |
