revelli wrote: | As you know, I changed my PC: i7, win7 64 bits, 6 giga of ram.
But The Bat started again crashing like with the other machine because of too much memory usage. It easily grows up to 300 megs and up.
The biggest file are:
statdata.fm 19 megs
msgidss.fm 2megs
sahdata.fm 2 megs
histdata.bin 0.7 meg
Any idea how to improve stability and decreasy memory usage? |
Could you please provide the size of filtering log? The total number of elements is specified in the status string. |

I asked about the number of elements, not the size of log file. This number is specified in the status string of the Filtering log window. |

I don't know exactly where do you find the number on the status string but this morning I cleared the log pf the plugin and reseted graphs. Now I can see +/- 200 logs (and ram usage is 600 megs). So I don't think that logs are the cause or memory problems.
Anyway this morning iI had +/- 10.000 logs because it's limited only to 1 day on the option tab |

The memory usage can grow with the number of items in filtering log. The other features just cannot take this amount of memory. Please try to clean up the filtering log, then restart TheBat. How much memory does it take with the empty filtering log? |

Ok I deleted the log and just restarted TB. I will tell you later the memory usage because it grows gradually. Now it's only 65 megs.
Note that when I minimize the Bat to the system tray the memory load decrease immediately dramatically and then stabilize.
For example, if I have 400 megs of memory usage and then I minimize The Bat it decrease to 30 or 40 megs. And stabilize.
But if I open the Bat windows, it starts growing slowly untill reaching again 400 or 500 megs.
By the way, the memory usage growed from to 65 to 78 megs during this post! |
