Hi!
I would like to have the option to white list the messages from contacts of my (The Bat!) Address Books.
It is very unsatisfying to update redundant entries in my (The Bat!) Address Books and the Friends List in ASS.
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately TheBat doesn't allow the plugins to access its Address Book. But the plug-in updates its whitelist automatically and in general this internal list contains even more record than Address Book.
- Initially you can import all records from TheBat Address Book to the plug-in. Open Address Book, select "File" | "Export to" | "Address List (Plain text)" and save the addresses to a file. Then import this file to the plugin?s whitelist using "Filtering" | "Edit list?" | "Import?"
- The plug-in adds the addresses to whitelist automatically when a message is marked as non-spam. To update the whitelist select one or more non-spam messages in TheBat and press "Mark as NOT Junk".
- By default the plug-in learns as non-spam all outgoing messages. Thereby the addresses of your recipients are added to whitelist automatically. |

But the Antispam-Plug-In "Regula" can do so! See w w w.gaijin.at/tbpregula.php (German)

Probably it uses an undocumented method and reads the Address Book items directly from TheBat storage. This approach doesn't work in Voyager and SecureBat. There is no need in this workarounds in AntispamSniper, because it uses more safe and convenient way of updating the whitelist. For example, the new item appears in whitelist immediately after sending a message to some recipient. The plug-in optionally extracts the addresses from message bodies, adds to whitelist the addresses from To, CC and From header fields of outgoing messages and incoming messages from whitelisted senders. The synchronization with Address Book is needed only in case when you manually add the new entries there. In other cases the plug-in updates the whitelist automatically on sending/receiving mail and during training on non-spam messages. |
