|
|
Hello, I use TheBat! at home and Voyager at work.
I've set Voyager to leave mails on server, in order just to read them, then I download them at home with thebat!.
Using the same black rules on headers (i delete mails not directed exactly to my email address) both at home both at work, I'd like in future releases if there would be an option to delete mails according to black rules always , even if it's set with the option of leaving the other messages on server.
Do you think is it possible or is it possible now,too and I'm not able to set voyager correctly?
Thanks
Bye |

The plug-in leaves on server the messages classified as spam by headers. And the current version deletes messages only with the corresponding records in filtering log. This allows restoring them in case of filtering mistakes. Next version will allow wiping out such messages from server manually, after reviewing the log. |

I've a new problem with an account with pop access.
I've set to filter mail on server according to black rules.
I can see from the log that several messages are deleted on server.
But today I've noticed that those messages meant to be deleted on server are still there. I can realize that accessing my mailbox through webmail, i can see all the messaged logged as deleted.
I repeatedly downloaded mail from the same server, but I saw via webmail that several message even older than today, were still there...
That occurs with domain @poste.it which is an Italian national email service's server.
I have TheBat! 3.95.8 and I have now ASS v1.8.0.8 but even with previous version 1.8.0.7 it was the same thing....
Is is a problem in ASS's filtering/operating with servers?
Or what?
Thanks |

You are right, these messages are the copies of filtered spam, leaved on the server to allow undeleting false positives. They are deleted automatically with the correspondent entries in filtering log. Or you can delete them manually by pressing a button "Mark spam on the server for deletion" on the toolbar in filtering log. The saved messages will be erased from server during next checking email in TheBat. |

I'm trying to say that the messages are not automatically deleted from servers during next checkings.....I've found messages older than 1 day and in the meantime I've checked email several times.
I think there's something not working properly.... |

There is no time limitations for the duration of storing messages on the server. The emails are stored on server as long as the corresponding entries in filtering log exist. The items are deleted from log when their number becomes greater than maximum log size. To delete the stored copies of the messages with existing log entries you can clear the log or press the button "Mark spam on the server for deletion".
Also sometimes TheBat can't see some old messages on the server. E.g. after turning off TheBat option "Leave messages on server" the existing messages become invisible for email client. In this case these emails may be deleted from server using internal TheBat dispatcher (Account | Dispatch mail on server). |
