I just signed up for a new program and was waiting for the email with my password. I saw it arrive in my IMAP account and then immediately disappear. I then went looking for the message and could not find it anywhere. I looked in the log and it was there classified as spam with a 79%rating. But the file was no where to be found. I looked in my universal spam folder and on the IMAP accounts web interface but it was not there either. Any ideas. I don't mind the odd false positive as long as there is a way to retrieve the message, but in this case there is not.

- Is it the first case when you can't find a message classified as spam in IMAP folders or it happens with all spam on particular IMAP server?
- Check the name of spam folder on IMAP tab of account properties in plug-in - is this folder exists on the server? Also try to reset the folder list in TheBat to make sure that all IMAP folders are visible.
- If the synchronization mode for INBOX in your TheBat IMAP account allows downloading full messages, you can try to use "Folder" | "Browse Deleted Messages" for finding the deleted message locally.
- Try to move a message to spam folder on IMAP server. If the server returns error, delete this folder and create it again with the same name.

This is the first time I have noticed it, but I may never have gone looking for spam in this folder before.

I have tried resetting the folder list and now I can see the junk folder, but that is not where the spam is being sent. It remains empty. I'm not sure what you mean by checking the name of the spam folder on the IMAP tab of account properties. I don't see an IMAP tab.

Browse deleted messages does not work. It looks to me as if the spam is being deleted from the server and not actually downloading.

I can move a message to the spam folder on the server, and can then see it on my computer, so this is also not where the spam is going.

I just ran a test again and sent myself spam from another account. This spam is no where to be found. The only way I can tell it arrived is that it is in Antispam sniper's log.

BTW this is a free fastmail account if that helps.
