|

First of all I'd like to introduce myself and say hello to everyone here. I am using TheBat since over 8 years now and I am impressed by the spotlessly clean implementation of AntispamSniper! Really good job, guys!
For now I have two questions:
- When does the Sniper check the DNSBL servers for updated lists? Once in a while, on each start or for every message?
- What exactly does it "learn" when I manually mark a message as spam? Only the addressee or contents of the message body as well? |

The plug-in checks via DNSBLs the sender IPs of each message during classifying the messages by headers.

When you mark a message as spam or ham the plug-in updates the following:
- The database of the statistical classifier (using the full message contents).
- Black and white lists of email addresses. The plug-in uses the addresses from standard header fields and optionally extracts the addresses from message body.
- The database of digests (control sums) for the message body and attachments.
- The list of keywords from message subject (optionally). |

Thank you for the fast answer!

Is there any tool available to explore this database?

The list (in german "Nicht erlaubte W?rter...") is empty here, even though I have marked several messages as spam. What have I to do to make the Sniper add words automatically? |

This database is stored in optimized binary format and doesn't allow the conversion to human-readable presentation. The plug-in has a special testing mode, allowing to check the classification of existing messages in email client. You can use the Filtering Log to see the results of classification and monitor the quality of the trained database.

This subsystem is turned off by default. To turn it on open the plug-in settings, press "Black words" button on Filtering tab and enable the checkbox "Enable checking subjects of the incoming messages for black keywords". You can find more information about this in articles:
