Why do most log entries not give a reason?

Hi,

I am using the free version.
I wanted to know why an email was classified as spam and so looked in the log. I noticed this entry and most of the others didn't have a reason. Is this normal? Is it because I am using the free version?

I then went into test mode and rechecked the mail and mysteriously it went from 83% down to 0.28%, so it is no longer spam. Why would this change when I haven't altered anything?

Hope somebody can help.

Thanks.

The reason is displayed in Filtering Log when a message was classified as 100% spam or ham. For example, a message can be classified as 100% spam by some black rule, or as 100% ham if the sender is whitelisted. The Reason field is empty in case if a message was not recognized as spam or ham, and the content classifier assigned to it some spam ratio between 0 and 100.

The spam ratio is changed only after training the plug-in. By default the plug-in learns the messages from whitelisted senders as ham automatically. So if you didn't mark any messages as ham before making a test, most probably the plug-in did this automatically during classifying the messages received after the checked message.

Thanks vetaltm. The reason for not having a reason Laughing is very obvious now that you have explained it! Don't know why I couldn't think of that myself Embarassed.

The change in percentage was a little surprising but I guess it shows how well the plug-in learns.

Thanks again, Adi.
