I installed sniper-mui-3.3.1.6_x64.exe while the bat was closed, it seemed to install okay but when I opened the bat it was not appearing in the anti-spam plugins section but there was an invalid item in the antivirus plugins section, which i then removed. In the Antispam plugins section I tried to manually install it pointing to the .tbp file but the bat generated an error window indicating:

"Could not initialize the plug-in
It either has some internal problems or it cannot be classified as a plug-in"

I went through the entire process again, with the same results (bogus entry in antivirus plugins, same error on manual install in antispam plugins)

This is a new laptop with new load of the bat

Laptop is Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 with 4GB RAM

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Please let me know if additional info is needed.

64-bit version of the plug-in works only with 64-bit version of TheBat. TheBat 6 x64 is not yet released.

That clarifies things quite a bit

I was somehow thinking the bat installer was detecting platform and installing 64bit when detected.

I installed the 32-bit version of antispamsniper and it went perfectly.
