is there an option to disable the "classification" and only use the "hard coded" black- and white-list options ?

(The classification currently produces too many false positives.)

No, the classification cannot be disabled. It is possible to specify a higher limit for spam ratio on Anti-spam tab in TheBat settings. The false positives occur when the classifier is not trained on your mail. To make it work better mark as non-spam your existing messages. Also by default the plug-in learns as non-spam the outgoing mail. So when you send many new mails and replies the classification quality will become better very soon.
