Recently Google has changed the certificates for gmail.com. In result older versions of TheBat refuse to connect with errors like "FETCH - TLS handshake failure. Invalid server certificate (The certificate cannot be used for this purpose)". It is possible to resolve the issue using AntispamSniper.
The plug-in supports filtering TLS connections. It generates own certificates with fixed properties, so TheBat accepts them properly. To enable this do the following:
- Install AntispamSniper root certificate as described here.
- Enable all checkboxes on Accounts tab in plug-in settings.
- If you don’t want the plug-in to filter message headers, specify the filtering mode “Filter messages on client” on POP3 tab in each account properties.
- To fix the certificate issue for SMTP protocol used to send messages, add manually a new account with any mail server name, and specify SMTP TLS ports on POP3 and IMAP tabs. For example on POP3 tab specify port 465, and on IMAP tab port 587. |
