Anti-phishing
Phishing
is a type of fraud designed to steal your identity. Social-engineering schemes
use 'spoof' e-mails to lead consumers to counterfeit websites designed to trick
recipients into divulging financial data such as credit card numbers, account
usernames, passwords and social security numbers. Hijacking brand names of banks,
e-retailers and credit card companies, phishers often convince recipients to respond.
The plug-in can detect spoof hyperlinks in messages. A link is
considered as spoof if the corresponding URL in the text differs from the URL referenced
in link. The message containing one or more spoof links is filtered out as spam.
URIBL method also blocks the phishing mails by detecting the presence of phishing
URIs in message text.
