Can I add a server DNSBL to the list? Ex.: zen.spamhaus.org
In advance, thanks for your reply. |

Currently it is impossible to change the list of DNSBL services from the plug-in settings. This feature will be added a bit later. As for zen.spamhaus.org, this service is a combination of SBL/XBL/PBL lists. You can select the predefined sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org and have almost the same results. Except PBL, which must not be used in AntispamSniper. The plug-in uses deep analysis for mail headers and check all found IPs. PBL contains only non-MTA IP address ranges, i.e. lists normal customer IP space, so adding this list in plug-in will increase the number of false positives. |

Now, with the new version, it is possible. Thanks
I added zen.spamhaus.com. Some statistics (after a few days):
- xbl.spamhaus.com: hits 2 false positive 0
- sbl.spamhaus.com: hits 0
- zen.spamhaus.com: hits 7 false positive 0

ZEN includes XBL, SBL and PBL lists, so it is expected that zen has more hits than xbl + sbl. The statistics above shows that 2 IPs were found in XBL and ZEN, because the latter includes XBL. And 5 IPs were found in PBL. Probably some of the PBL hits are false positives. But the plug-in counts a hit as a false positive only when a message classified as spam by sender IP is marked as non-spam. So it is hard to say how many of PBL hits were false positives, because by default the minimum number of IP hits required for blocking a message is 3.
I would not recommend using zen.spamhaus.com in AntispamSniper. This combine includes PBL list, intended for using in server-side filters. The server has more information about the sender, and thereby it is possible to avoid using the deep analysis for mail headers and use PBL without false positives. For the client-side filters, which use PBL, appearing of the filtering mistakes because of DNSBL is a matter of time. |
