|

I noticed that in the About section of the plugin for TheBat there is a "check for new versions automatically" check-box.
I've had this checked but it has never alerted me of the new version's availability.
Does this feature actually work? If so how does it tell me?
TIA,
Nick. |

When the "Check for new versions.." checkbox is enabled, the plug-in connects to antispamsniper.com via HTTP when TheBat starts, and shows an alert when a new version is available on the server. The plug-in makes only one check during initialization and doesn't try to do it again until closing the email client. If TheBat starts automatically with OS, and there is no internet connection at the moment, the check will always fail.
This feature appeared in version 3.0 beta 1. There was only one new version so far - 3.0.0.7 (current release), so if you have installed 3.0.0.7, the plug-in will be quiet until next release. |
